Vanessa Walsh

Instructor

Vanessa has completed Kumon's instructor training program and is a certified Kumon Instructor. She is the mother of two small boys and first learned about the Kumon program through her eldest son, Liam. Liam (then aged 4) came home from daycare one day saying that his friend attended Kumon and he wanted to join him......a recommendation from another 4 year old!

After a year of Kumon study, Liam's progress impressed Vanessa so much that she decided to become a Kumon Instructor! Vanessa is so excited about the awesome programs offered by Kumon, and about the way Kumon study gives children such a strong foundation in the core skills of Reading/Writing and Math. 

Vanessa's background is as a Research Scientist. She received her BSc in Microbiology from University College Wales, Aberystwyth, followed by her PhD in Medical Genetics from the University Leicester, both in the U.K. Vanessa moved to the Pacific Northwest in the summer of 2000 and worked as a research scientist at the University of Washington for many years. 

Kavitha Kannabhiraman

Assistant (Reception)

Kavitha has a Master's in accounting and finance. She is the mother of one small daughter and enjoys volunteering at her daughter's school. Kavitha has been a Redmond Ridge resident since the beginning of Redmond Ridge!

Katy Love

Assistant (Junior Kumon)

Katy is an experienced pre-school teacher, having taught in the Sammamish area for many years. Katy has two children who are barely children any more! She is a Pacific Northwest native.

Assistant (Junior Kumon and Reception)

Amnah splits her time at the center between working with the younger children, in the Junior KUMON area, and the front office. Amnah is a fully qualified Math teacher and is also available to assist higher level math students with their assignments.

Ananya Murali

Junior Assistant

Ananya is our youngest staff member. She has been a Kumon student for almost ten years and is the highest level  student we have at the Center here in Redmond Ridge. She is currently studying in level K of the Math program. We waited patiently for Ananya to reach the age of fourteen, and thus be legally employable. Ananya grades assignments for the younger children.
